Major Indie Match Nixed Following ‘Consultation’ With AEW/ROH AEW

Warrior Wrestling has pulled a major tag-team match from an upcoming show after speaking with AEW/ROH.

The Briscoes were originally set to face the Lucha Bros at Warrior Wrestling 25 on October 2. This match will no longer be happening on the show, following a ‘consultation’ with Tony Khan’s promotions.

Noting that all four men will be in action on the show, and that AEW’s Eddie Kingston will also wrestle, Warrior Wrestling tweeted:

After consultation from our friends at ROH and AEW, we have agreed to alter our card for Warrior Wrestling 25. The Lucha Brothers and the Briscoe Brothers will both still be competing, but they will no longer be facing one another.

They will each compete in separate matches. BUT…..AEW will be sending EDDIE KINGSTON to compete at Warrior Wrestling 25 and appear at the pre-show fan fest as part of this change. We’re excited to host the Mad King!

As the teams will still wrestle at the event, it has been speculated that this Briscoes vs Lucha Brothers match is being saved for an upcoming ROH show.

Ahead of Death Before Dishonor in July, Tony Khan confirmed that Mark & Jay Briscoe have signed with ROH. Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero M currently hold the AEW Trios Championship, with Pac.

As of writing, ROH doesn’t have a deal with a network for weekly TV. Check out the latest update on Tony Khan’s plans for ROH TV right here.
