Britt Baker Reveals Original Plans For Thunder Rosa Feud (Exclusive)

In an exclusive interview with WrestleTalk, Britt Baker revealed the original plans for her feud with Thunder Rosa in AEW.

Britt Baker shared that Tony Khan did have plans for it to be a long-term program, but they didn’t know it would result in an unsanctioned main event until just a few weeks beforehand.

She said:

“Tony (Khan) had plans for me and Thunder Rosa for the feud to go on for months, but, and he’s very black and white about this, you don’t know if things can go as planned. Are the fans gonna stay behind it? Do we have enough smoke behind it? Is it time to pull the plug? And we were lucky enough that the fans did stay really invested in it and Tony was really great with booking the angle and the story, him and Kenny (Omega) both, the way that they did.

“As far as it being a main event, we heard, I would say, I don’t know if it was a month or a few weeks before, that it could very well be a lights out main event, unsanctioned, the works. But I didn’t believe it until it was that day and I looked at the whiteboard and it said, ‘The main event: Dr Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa’, and I was like, ‘Holy s**t, we’re the main event’. For some people, they’ll have like 100 main events in their career, but that’s not common for women, and certainly not for women in AEW yet because we’re so new and still building our division. So that’s when I had goosebumps, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m in the main event’, when I saw it on the whiteboard.”
