Brock Rechsteiner – the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner – has shared an update on his plans to pursue a career in pro-wrestling.
Rechsteiner was confirmed to have signed a WWE NIL deal in June 2025, a program which sees the company support college athletes.
With Rechsteiner recently exploring options with the Tennessee Titans NFL team and participating in the rookie camp with the New Orleans Saints following a stint with the intercollegiate team Jacksonville State Gamecocks, he has now stated that he plans to make the transition into wrestling after his football career ends.
Speaking with Sharief Ishaq of WDSU, Rechsteiner stated that the wrestling careers of his father Scott Steiner and uncle Rick Steiner have inspired him, stating:
“It really inspired me when he got inducted into the Hall of Fame back in Dallas in 2022. That inspired me to, once I’m done playing football – I want to pursue football as long as I can, play as long as I can – but once I’m done, I’ll get into wrestling too.”

When asked about his cousin, Bron Breakker, Rechsteiner stated that Breakker has also convinced him to pursue a wrestling career, stating:
“I work out with him all the time back home. I go fishing with him a lot because he moved back to Georgia. He has really convinced me to, once I’m done playing football, to get into the wrestling business.
“I want to play football for as long as I can, give it the best shot I can, but once I’m done playing football, I’ll get into it, for sure.”

A number of current WWE stars previously played football prior to becoming wrestlers.
These athletes include World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns, who played college football for Georgia Tech and had brief stints with NFL sides Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars, and US Champion Trick Williams, who attended a tryout camp with the Philadelphia Eagles following his own college career.
WWE has a nice balance when it comes to recruitment, bringing in a mix of experienced wrestlers as well as former college athletes to develop at the Performance Center.
Whenever Brock Rechsteiner does decide to make the jump to pro-wrestling, his pre-existing connection with WWE, as well as familial relationships with the Steiner Brothers and Bron Breakker will give him the opportunity to make a big splash as a rookie.
With Bron Breakker touted by many – including Charlotte Flair – as a star to watch, the duo of Bron and Brock would be fun to watch.
