WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Paige has shared an update after suffering a bloody head injury on SmackDown.

The May 8 episode saw Paige and Brie Bella take to the ring, before they were interrupted by Fatal Influence and the Irresistible Forces.

This led to Nia Jax and Lash Legend attacking the Women’s Tag Team Champions, and Rhea Ripley having a stare-down with the two attackers.

Fans have shown concern following this segment, with footage emerging of Paige checking her head while at ringside while Ripley was making her entrance.

Paige has since taken to social media to share more photos and videos, revealing that she suffered a bloody cut on the top of her head.

This injury appears to have come from Nia Jax striking Paige with the microphone, however this hasn’t been confirmed.

Long before Danhausen started throwing curses around in WWE, fans would talk about the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship injury curse, with a number of stars getting hurt while in the title picture.

Sonya Deville, Jade Cargill, and Liv Morgan all had their title reigns cut short due to injury, with Morgan having two separate reigns with the Women’s Tag Team Championship end while she was on the shelf.

More recently, Nikki Bella – who was reportedly planned to win the title with Brie Bella at WrestleMania 42 – suffered an ankle sprain, fracture and tear on the March 27 edition of SmackDown, with Paige ultimately replacing her at the Show of Shows.

Following her injury, Nikki Bella came to the support of Nia Jax, shutting down rumors that Jax had injured her, and explaining how Jax actually helped her out in the segment.

We will continue to provide updates on Paige’s status as they become available, and we wish her a safe and healthy recovery.
