Tonight’s (July 19) episode of AEW Dynamite is set to be the annual Blood & Guts special episode of the show.
The main event will feature the titular match, pitting the Golden Elite of Kenny Omega, Adam Page, the Young Bucks and Kota Ibushi against the Blackpool Combat Club team of Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Konosuke Takeshita and PAC.
PAC was revealed as the fifth man for the team on last week’s episode of the show, subbing in for Bryan Danielson who will miss the match with an injury for the second straight year.
Bryan suffered a broken arm during his dream match main event with Kazuchika Okada back at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in Toronto last month.
Taking to Twitter today, Bryan hyped up tonight’s show, as well as the addition of PAC to the BCC’s side.
He wrote:
Sad I’m missing out (AGAIN!) on #BloodAndGuts, but PAC is a fantastic addition on the side of #BlackpoolCombatClub. Can’t wait to watch the mayhem and there’s nobody better in these type of matches than the BCC! #AEWDynamite
In a follow up tweet, Bryan provided an update on his status, revealing that he got surgery on his arm two weeks ago, sharing a before and after photo.
He wrote:
Also, to give everyone an update before #AEWDynamite , I got surgery on my arm about two weeks ago, where they put in a steel rod and 9 screws. Surgery went well and I’m on the road to recovery. Thank you all for the support, and check out #BloodAndGuts tonight!
