Bryan Danielson has revealed William Regal’s current Blackpool Combat Club status.
In 2022, William Regal arrived in All Elite Wrestling and quickly aligned with former proteges Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley to form the Blackpool Combat Club.
The group would later add Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli to their stable to become one of the most prominent collection of talent ever assembled in the company’s history.
However, Regal would leave AEW to make a backstage return to WWE in November 2022. Despite this, the BCC has continued on to become just as powerful of a force.
In a new interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Bryan Danielson addressed the connection of the Blackpool Combat Club and even revealed that Regal’s status with the faction. He said:
“Our connection as a group feels real. That’s because it is.”
“The story is we train together and we make each other better. The reality is that wrestling together, we do make each other better.”
“Even when Regal left, we didn’t break. And he’s still on our BCC group chat.”
The Blackpool Combat Club has had to deal with Bryan Danielson being out of action with a broken arm since his main event bout against Kazuchika Okada at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
BCC’s Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli will face Lucha Brothers in tag team action on tonight’s August 9 edition of AEW Dynamite.
