AEW TNT Champion Christian Cage has now reacted to Candice LeRae’s comments to Maxxine Dupri on WWE Raw.
Monday’s (March 11) show saw Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell face off against Maxxine Dupri and Ivy Nile.
LeRae snapped at Dupri during the match, and during her rant, mentioned Dupri’s dead brother. LeRae said:
“It’s a good job your dead brother isn’t here to see what an embarrassment you are.”
Maxxine’s real-life brother passed away in a traffic collision in 2017.
LeRae had been teasing a heel turn on WWE TV for a few weeks, and it was cemented on Monday’s Raw.
Christian Cage, who often mentions his rivals’ dead relatives in AEW, has now taken to Twitter to seemingly comment on LeRae’s words.
Believing he inspired LeRae, Cage wrote:
They ALL want to be me
Christian Cage is currently on his second official reign with the AEW TNT Championship, regaining the championship from fellow WWE legend Adam Copeland (Edge) at the December 2023 Worlds End pay-per-view moments after Copeland won the title from him.
He will defend his title once again against Copeland in an I Quit match on the Match 20 edition of Dynamite in Toronto.
