A new report has revealed an update on CM Punk potentially joining IMPACT Wrestling.
While there has been a lot of speculation about Punk potentially returning to WWE at Survivor Series in Chicago next month, WWE are said to have rejected the chance to bring Punk back.
In an update from Haus of Wrestling, it was reported that Punk was backstage at the October 22 IMPACT Wrestling television tapings in Chicago.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), those close to Punk claimed a few weeks ago that they didn’t think he would want to sign with the company.
However, those close to the former AEW star also said that if he woke up one day and just decided he wanted to wrestle Josh Alexander or Motor City Machine Guns, Punk likely could if he wanted to.
Another person in touch with Punk stated he would join the promotion under the right circumstances.
The report notes that one big hurdle on the outside looking in would be the salary, as CM Punk was annually making about 15-20 times what a lot of top IMPACT wrestlers are making right now.
WrestleTalk will provide further updates on CM Punk’s status with IMPACT Wrestling when they become available.
