CM Punk Tag Match Added To Tonight’s AEW Collision AEW

A CM Punk tag team match has been added to tonight’s edition of AEW Collision (July 22) after an in-ring segment started tonight’s show.

After Ricky Starks bested CM Punk last week to become the Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament winner, Starks started tonight’s AEW Collision with an in-ring segment.

After a notably huge amount of pyro upon his entrance helped to mark the occasion, Ricky Starks gave a passionate promo and was well supported by the crowd despite his heelish behavior last week.

Included in the heelishness was the fact Starks used the ring ropes for leverage on his pin in the final match to beat CM Punk.

While Punk came out to the ring to confront Starks about this fact, he asked Starks if he could be proud of a win that he knew he cheated to get.

Punk originally walked away however returned to the ring after Starks taunted him about carrying “an empty bag,” which prompted Punk to come back to the ring to claim that he was still the AEW World Champion.

Of course, for several weeks, Punk has been carrying a bag believed to have the original AEW World Championship belt in it, instead of MJF’s current custom belt.

CM Punk was interrupted then by Christian Cage and Luchasaurus, who in turn were interrupted by Darby Allin.

After a continued back and forth ensued, Tony Khan made a match official letting Tony Schiavone in the ring know to announce the show’s main event.

CM Punk will be teaming with Darby Allin to take on Christian Cage and Ricky Starks to close tonight’s episode of AEW Collision.
