During WWE Elimination Chamber today, Cody Rhodes laid out a challenge to The Rock for a one-on-one match.
Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins were guests on the Grayson Waller Effect at Elimination Chamber, which saw Waller receive a hero’s welcome in his home country.
Joined by his tag team partner Austin Theory, Waller introduced Cody Rhodes as “a man who can thank the American education system for his inability to finish a story”.
The main takeaways from the segment were Seth Rollins revealing that he’s “days away from being cleared” to return to the ring, and also the aforementioned challenge from Rhodes.
He said that he’s obviously booked for the WrestleMania 40 main event against Roman Reigns, but other than that, he’s free, and challenged The Rock to a one-on-one match “any time, any place”.
However, Rollins did point out that there’s “no such thing” as one-on-one against a member of the Bloodline, and assured Rhodes that he “won’t be fighting that battle alone” if and when it happens.
Nothing was made official so it remains to be seen whether it will indeed be a one-on-one match, a tag match with Rollins involved, or something else.
The segment ended with both Rhodes and Rollins laying out Austin Theory with their finishers as Waller simply watched on.
