Cody Rhodes Sent Former World Champion Thank You Message After WWE Return

Cody Rhodes’ return to WWE back at WrestleMania 38 last year came after six years away from the company.

Cody accomplished a lot of things outside the company, obviously most notably being a founder and executive vice president of AEW.

However, Cody also became the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion back at the original All In event, defeating Nick Aldis to capture the gold.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Aldis spoke about Cody’s return, noting that he received a thank you message from the American Nightmare after his return to WWE.

He said:

“When Cody came back to WWE, he sent me a very nice message after his WrestleMania return just sort of acknowledging that our match really sort of helped set that journey for him, and I appreciated that. I’m proud of him, and I’m proud of what we did together.”

Aldis himself was a free agent at the beginning of 2023 after his NWA contract expired.

Aldis had interest from WWE, but he did not sign with the company due to the ‘hiring freeze’ following Vince McMahon’s return and the sale to Endeavor.

Aldis is now signed to IMPACT Wrestling, where he is set to face off with Kenny King at the upcoming Under Siege pay-per-view.

Cody is set for a rematch against Brock Lesnar at the upcoming WWE Night of Champions premium live event in Saudi Arabia.

Becky Lynch returned and confronted Trish Stratus

Dominik Mysterio def. Xavier Woods
