Somehow, nearly two weeks later, the wrestling world is still talking about CM Punk and the curious tale of the AEW All Out media scrum, as it led to some ramifications for the future of All Elite Wrestling’s product.
Punk infamously went on a rant towards Adam Page and the Elite that led to a backstage fight that got Punk, Kenny Omega, Matt and Nick Jackson suspended from AEW, and the AEW World and AEW Trios Championship being vacated.
The cause for all this drama was a rumour that spread back in May, that noted that Tony Khan and AEW planned to not renew Colt Cabana’s contract with the company, before the Elite spoke up for Cabana, keeping him around for Ring of Honor, with the blame for Khan’s decision falling on Punk.
Part of Punk’s rant tore down Cabana (Scott Colt0n), with him noting that Colton ‘shares a bank account with his mother’ and how that ‘tells you what kind of a person he is’.
Cabana was on Twitch earlier today, where he said that he wasn’t going to reference the specific comments, though he did make a joke about them later in the stream.
He said:
“My brother is the director of Family Guy, if you didn’t know that. That’s a fun little tidbit. My brother is the director of Family Guy. You can look up his name. He also shares a bank account with my mother. It’s just all in the family, you know how it is.”
