Top AEW Star Is Happy Being ‘Guinea Pig’ For ‘Crazy Stuff’ AEW

Darby Allin is renowned in AEW for being a daredevil capable of outrageous moments in his many matches since the company’s debut.

Whether it’s being dragged along by a car whilst trapped in a body bag, hitting his Coffin Drop onto a coffin at Fyter Fest in 2021, the various spots from the AEW Revolution match where he teamed with Sting to face Team Taz in 2021 or just being thrown down a flight of stairs on Dynamite, Allin is willing to put his body on the line.

In a recent appearance on the BJ & Migs Daily Podcast, Allin explained his mindset for such stunts, saying:

“My big thing is, if I have to be the spokesperson for AEW to show, like, if I am the guinea pig of doing crazy stuff to get more eyes on the company, let me be that guy.

“To me, I feel like a lot of a people in wrestling, like, ‘What’s your character?’, ‘I’m not scared of anything,’ and then in real life, they’re like, ‘Please don’t hurt me.’

“I’m thinking outside the box, like how do we get more random buzz from people who don’t watch wrestling, and it’s like, if you see it on the news: ‘Pro wrestler climbs Mount Everest.’ Like, ‘What?’, and then they look into it. That’s my goal.”

Allin has previously spoken about his ambition to climb Mount Everest in April 2024.

In October, he heads over to train in Switzerland before going to China in November and New Zealand in February.

Allin recently faced Christian Cage and Luchasaurus in a three-way match for the TNT Championship.

Cage would end up being triumphant, pinning now-former champion Luchasaurus.
