Here are more details regarding original plans for The Rock to appear at the November 21 WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view.
The show was the 25th year celebration of The Rock, and included a sponsorship for Rock’s new movie ‘Red Notice’ in the form of an egg, but there was one thing missing from the show… The Rock.
As reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the original plan was indeed to have Rock appear on the show, but because of him being in Australia filming Young Rock, it fell through.
In normal times it may have been possible for him to make the move, but because of the fact he’d have to quarantine upon travelling, it simply wasn’t possible.
Previous reports had indicated that WWE was hoping to use Rock’s planned appearance to start the build to the big match everyone’s expecting to eventually see between him and Roman Reigns.
That match was initially planned for WrestleMania 38 this coming April, but again, because of The Rock’s schedule, it looks like it’s now more likely for WrestleMania 39 instead.
