‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio has fired a hilarious shot at CM Punk ahead of their upcoming match, referencing Punk’s time in AEW.
CM Punk made his return to WWE at the end of this year’s Survivor Series event in Chicago after almost a decade away from the company.
Punk’s WWE retain came after he was terminated with cause from AEW back on September 2 following the investigation into the backstage incident at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium.
Punk is set to take part in his first WWE matches in almost a decade next week, with him set to take on ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio at WWE live events on December 26 at Madison Square Garden and December 30 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.
Punk returned to commentary for CFFC for the first time since his return, where he advertised his match with Dominik at the Forum on December 30, noting that he has ‘wanted to punch this kid since he was 8 years old’.
Dominik has since reacted to the clip, firing a hilarious shot at Punk referencing his time in AEW.
Mysterio shared a clip of Punk’s match teaming with FTR against Max Caster and the Gunn Club, which took place at the Kia Forum on June 1, 2022.
Punk wrestled the match with a broken foot after he injured it doing a stage dive during his entrance, his first as AEW World Champion.
During the match, Punk attempted a springboard on Colten Gunn, but slipped off, before nailing Gunn with a forearm strike.
Dominik shared a gif of the botched move, alongside the caption:
Punch me like this please…@CMPunk #bestintheworld
Punk officially signed with the Raw brand on last week’s episode of the show, as well as declaring himself for the 2024 Royal Rumble match.
Punk recently spent time backstage at NXT and at the WWE Performance Center, where he took pictures with multiple roster members.
