Drew McIntyre finally captured his first WWE Championship back at WrestleMania in 2020, when he dethroned Brock Lesnar in the main event of night two of the show.
McIntyre’s championship victory came 11 years after WWE chairman Vince McMahon christened him ‘the Chosen One’ on SmackDown for the first time.
With 20 years in the wrestling business now under his belt, some fans have speculated that McIntyre could be on his final days as a wrestler. Drew recently sat down with Fansided to speak about his career, where he revealed how much longer he feels like he has left in him.
He said:
“I ain’t going anywhere. I’ll be here as long as I possibly can. I’m 36 years old, everybody thinks I am in my mid-40’s because I debuted when I was so young. I still have at least 10 years in me. Don’t count me out yet.”
Drew McIntyre will be in action at this Saturday’s WWE Day 1 pay-per-view on New Year’s Day, when he takes on Madcap Moss.
