Dustin Rhodes has addressed his first AEW singles championship win at All In Texas, giving a mention to his late father, The American Dream Dusty Rhodes.
Rhodes’ victory came at AEW All In Texas with Kyle Fletcher, Daniel Garcia and Sammy Guevara also competing for the vacated TNT Champoinship.
The title had been vacated following Adam Cole not being medically cleared to compete at the July 12 AEW pay-per-view.
Rhodes would share his thoughts following his victory, echoing his brother, Cody Rhodes, and his “finish the story” motif in WWE, while also referencing Cole’s absence, tweeting:
I guess MY story wasn’t finished. My heart goes out to @AdamColePro. Much love and prayers to you my friend. I love you and thank you for all u have done for our great business.
Now gonna ice bath my internal 90 yr old body🤣

Holding the ROH World Tag Team Championship with Guevara and the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship with Marshall & Ross Von Erich, the TNT Championship marks the first AEW singles title held by Rhodes, and his first notable singles title in wrestling since his tenth WWE Hardcore Title reign in May 2002.
In a recent post on Twitter, Rhodes revealed he was still in disbelief that he is the new TNT Champion, giving a shoutout to his late father Dusty Rhodes, tweeting:
“Man, I still can’t believe it!!! Still on the high of my life!
“Pops…. I am the @AEW TNT Champion!!!!!
“Wish u were here❤️”
Having signed his first AEW contract in 2019, it was recently reported that Dustin Rhodes has signed a new deal that will take him to 2030.
The report notes that Rhodes “consults, coaches, occasionally wrestles and acts as an ambassador” for AEW.
