Eddie Kingston Reveals Who Pitched Him Saving Jon Moxley After Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch (Exclusive)

One fascinating on-screen wrestling rivalry turned friendship is that between Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley.

Recently Kingston gave additional details on the origins of the ending to that infamous exploding barbed wire deathmatch between Moxley and Kenny Omega.

In an exclusive interview on the WrestleTalk Podcast, Eddie Kingston chatted with WrestleTalk’s own Oli Davis, Luke Owen, and Denise Salcedo about who pitched the idea for his run-in.

According to Kingston, it was all Mox’s idea, saying:

“It was Mox. That was all Mox. Mox pitches ideas for me, I don’t do it. I just go to work. Give me my lunchbag… that’s the way I’ve always been. Just give me my little lunchbag, hard hat, and I’ll go to work. ‘What do you want me to do? Okay. I don’t know if I like it, but whatever, you’re paying me’.”

While underwhelming pyrotechnics saw the match finish in a less spectacular than anticipated fashion. Kingston and Moxley attempted to make the best out of the situation to continue the angle.

Kingston has previously commented that while he wouldn’t go into detail, he was quite angry after the botched ending and his cohort backstage were aware.

Elsewhere in the exclusive interview, Eddie Kingston talks about his feelings about CM Punk, Chris Jericho and Bryan Danielson and shares a deeply personal story about his relationship with Homicide.
