Original Elite AEW Dynamite Costume Plans Reportedly Nixed By TNT

The nixed original plans for The Elite’s costumes for the October 27 edition of AEW Dynamite have now been revealed.

In the main event of Wednesday’s show, Kenny Omega, Adam Cole and The Young Bucks did battle with Colt Cabana, Evil Uno, John Silver & Stu Grayson of The Dark Order. For the bout, The Elite had a Ghostbusters-esque theme to their entrance and costumes.

As per Fightful Select (subscription required), Kenny Omega & co. were originally set to dress in Squid Game inspired costumes for their match.

The report stated that the word backstage was that WarnerMedia or TNT put a stop to the plans when they found out. A backstage source reportedly noted that they weren’t sure if TNT understood how much of a parody The Elite’s costumes were planned to be.

The Ghostbusters-inspired gear was chosen at short notice. According to Fightful, there is no heat between TNT and AEW over the matter.

During the segment, Hangman Page joined the Dark Order to help the group beat down The Elite. Page challenges Omega for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear on November 13.
