Eric Bischoff Blasts Tony Khan For Recent WWE Comments

Eric Bischoff has offered Tony Khan some honest advice following the AEW President’s recent remarks about WWE.

Ahead of the October 15 episodes of AEW Rampage and WWE SmackDown going head to head for 30 minutes, Khan made a number of polarizing comments online, even arguing that Ted Turner didn’t know even 1% of what he currently knows about pro-wrestling.

Speaking on 83 Weeks (via AdFreeShows) , Bischoff told Khan to ‘shut up’ and allow the wrestling to do the talking. Comparing AEW’s current situation to when WCW were competing with WWE, Bischoff said:

“If Tony were to call me and ask for any advice, here’s what it would be — shut up and wrestle dude. Just put out the best product you can and you’ve proven you can, focus on that. This is weird coming from me right? The guy that challenged Vince McMahon, the guy that gave away all of the finishes…but here’s the difference, I was actually competing with them. I was going head-to-head, real head-to-head, my show started the same time his show started every week.”

“That’s real competition, so I’m a little disappointed in the rhetoric I’m hearing out of Tony as well as some of the talent man. Shut the f**k up until you’re actually competing and you’re actually competing favourably. And by the way Tony, in 1996, I was kicking WWE’s ass every week in a real head-to-head competition, not a cosplay competition.”

Bischoff has shared a clip of the interview on Twitter:

While SmackDown beat Rampage in terms of total viewership, Rampage had the better 18-49 demographic number for the 30 minute head-to-head. You can read the full demographic breakdown of the Rampage and SmackDown head-to-head here.
