Former AEW star and Dark Order member Alan Angels has spoken about how it felt to bet on himself after leaving the company.
Angels – who has since dropped his first name – left AEW early in 2022, choosing instead to forge his own path on the independent circuit.
He now wrestles for a variety of different wrestling promotions, including IMPACT Wrestling, where he is a member of the stable The Design (formerly Violent By Design).
Speaking with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, at a recently-released interview conducted at WrestleCade 2022, Angels was positive about his decision to move on:
“It does feel good. I gotta say I feel like I was a little bit of a different person in that interview. I think humble Angels is gone, right? Yeah, I bet on myself. You know why I bet on myself, Sean? Because I’m that damn good, Sean. I am very good.”
Angels also had some less positive things to say about former Dark Order stablemate Evil Uno:
“It’s not like I’m going to forgive him, you know what I mean? He treated me like shit for two years almost. So you think I’m just going to forgive him like that? No. Personally, I would love to fight him. Like I said, today I’m here because I’m paid. If it were up to me, I wouldn’t want to see his ugly face. He does have an ugly face under that mask, as we almost saw last night.”
