Former NFL MVP and Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton says “there’s a chance” he could appear in AEW if it makes sense and cents.
With Tony Khan’s background as an executive with the Jacksonville Jaguars, AEW hasn’t been shy with integrating the NFL with pro wrestling.
There has been a long history of football and wrestling coming together, whether it be former football players becoming bigger stars in wrestling, or active and retired players taking part in the festivities.
In a new interview on Fourth & 1, former NFL MVP Cam Newton told AEW President Tony Khan that there is a chance he could appear in his company. With his NFL playing career seemingly over, Newton expressed his thoughts on possibly crossing over to wrestling. He said to Khan:
“I will not say I won’t do anything, ever,”
“So, there’s a chance. From that realm, now it comes down to, it must make sense. When I say sense, my sense doesn’t start with a S, my ‘cents’ starts with a C.”
Cam Newton won the NFL MVP in 2016 and played in Superbowl 50.
