Following on from being one of the superstars drafted over to Monday Night Raw in last week’s Superstar Shake-up, things were looking up for ‘The Long Island Iced Z’, Zack Ryder.
After a few years of lulling in the mid-card of SmackDown Live, with his only notable feud being against his former tag team partner in the Hype Bros, Mojo Rawley, which seemed to fade away with no great fan fare, the move to Raw could of seen a true fan favorite prosper on the red brand.
However, on this weeks edition of Main Event in a dark match, Zack Ryder appeared to have suffered an injury in a bout with fellow new draftee Mike Kanellis, who both made the jump to Raw via Instagram.
This was then confirmed by Ryder himself, writing on Twitter:
This pic is from last night b4 my match with @RealMikeBennett on #MainEvent. We treated it like we were wrestling on #Raw. Unfortunately, I suffered a knee injury. While the rest of the roster is flying to Saudi Arabia 2day for #WWEGRR, I’m flying back to Orlando to get a MRI. pic.twitter.com/YkW1fwOElR

Ryder was originally supposed to appear in the 50 man Royal Rumble Match this Friday at The Greatest Royal Rumble event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
It goes without saying that everyone here at WrestleTalk wishes one of the most underutilized superstars in WWE a quick and speedy recovery.
