Following the Marigold Summer Destiny event, former WWE star Sareee has been crowned the inaugural Marigold World Champion.
Sareee, formerly known as Sarray in NXT, left WWE in March 2023 after a three year run with the promotion. Since then, the former NXT star has once again become a standout in Japan and known as an ace in the Joshi world.
At the Marigold Summer Destiny show, Sareee defeated Giulia in the main event to become the inaugural Marigold World Champion.
The 25 plus minute bout featured Sareee viciously attacking the surgically repaired wrist of the former World of Stardom Champion throughout.
The finish saw Sareee lock on an armbar and wrench back on Giulia’s previously broken wrist until the referee was forced to stop the bout.
Giulia has been making headlines this year herself after signing with WWE over WrestleMania weekend.
