A former WWE star has confirmed that their contract with TNA Wrestling is set to expire soon.
As first reported by Fightful Select in February, the TNA contract of former IMPACT World Champion Steve Maclin is set to expire in May, 2024.
Now, in a new interview with WrestleZone, Maclin confirmed that this was indeed the case however, would reveal that he’s hoping to remain in the company past that date, but nothing has been agreed upon as of right now.
Maclin said:
Yeah, I know my deal’s up in May with TNA. I would love to stay.
I’ve let management know that I’ve been enjoying my time here and loving my time here. But it’s one of those things where if it’s going to come down to a choice on what’s best for me and my family.
So, right now, I am focused more or less on just this Friday in Windsor. Taking it one match at a time. But I know that I have a lot to prove as well for them to come back at me with an offer to stay. So, that’s on me.
Maclin moved to TNA in 2021 after spending six years in WWE, with his most notable role being one-third of The Forgotten Sons stable alongside Jaxson Ryker and Wesley Blake.
Maclin most recently faced off with fellow WWE alum Nic Nemeth (Dolph Ziggler) at the company’s Sacrifice pay-per-view (March 8), but would lose out to the two-time former WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
