Former Nexus member Heath, formerly known as Heath Slater in WWE, has spoken about whether he stays in touch with his old stable.
Heath was released by WWE on April 15, 2020 in a round of budget cuts resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, ending his 14-year tenure with the company.
After spending several years in WWE’s developmental territories, Heath debuted for WWE television in the first season of NXT in 2010.
He later went on to form the Nexus stable with his fellow season one competitors.
Speaking to Adrian Hernandez of 1140 AM Las Vegas, Heath spoke about his relationship with his old stable mates, noting:
“We still got a group text. I swear to God, we do. Every one of us in it.
Heath said that he mostly keeps in touch with Ryback, Wade Barrett, Darren Young and Justin Gabriel the most from the stable, describing the latter two as ‘legit buddies.’ He said he does not speak to Michael Tarver or Daniel Bryan as much as the others.
“Don’t get me wrong, we’re all still buddies. Ryback’s a little insane. I love him though, man. He’ll always be a brother.”
Heath currently wrestles for IMPACT Wrestling. He and Rhino defeated Matt Taven and Mike Bennett for the IMPACT Tag Team Title on the October 20 edition of IMPACT.
