Infamous Match Stipulation To Return At IMPACT Slammiversary

IMPACT Wrestling has announced the return of an infamous stipulation ahead of this Sunday’s (June 19) Slammiversary pay-per-view.

The Reverse Battle Royal will be making a comeback during the Countdown to Slammiversary pre-show.

IMPACT shared the following on its website:

Then, one of the most notorious match types in IMPACT Wrestling history makes its long-awaited return as the Reverse Battle Royal comes to Countdown. Featuring a unique set of rules where all competitors start outside of the ring and fight their way in, you never know who may show up for a shot at greatness!

The Reverse Battle Royal begins with all competitors outside the ring. After half of the competitors make their way into the squared circle, they then battle it out in a normal over-the-top-rope battle royal. Variations of the bout have finished with the final two stars meeting in a one-fall match.

IMPACT (TNA) hosted a Reverse Battle Royal for the first round of the 2006 ‘Fight for the Right’ tournament, and held another at Bound for Glory 2007.

IMPACT also announced that Rich Swann and Brian Myers will face off for the Digital Media Championship during the Countdown to Slammiversary.

The current lineup for the main card is as follows:

• Impact World Championship – Josh Alexander (c) vs. Eric Young
• Knockouts Championship Queen of Mountain – Tasha Steelz (c) vs. Deonna Purrazzo vs. Chelsea Green vs. Jordynne Grace vs. Mia Yim (Mickie James special guest enforcer)
• Impact World Tag Team Championship – Briscoes (c) vs. Good Brothers
• X-Division Championship Ultimate X – Ace Austin (c) vs. Trey Miguel vs. Kenny King vs. “Speedball” Mike Bailey vs. Jack Evans vs. Alex Zayne
• Impact Knockouts Tag Team Championship – The Influence (c) vs. Taya Valkyrie & Rosemary
• Monster’s Ball – Sami Callihan vs. Moose
• Honor No More (Eddie Edwards, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Vincent, & PCO) vs. Impact Originals (Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, Frankie Kazarian, & two more partners)
