The main event of last night’s New Year’s Evil special saw Finn Balor put his NXT Championship on the line against Kyle O’Reilly in a rematch from their brutal clash at NXT TakeOver 31 last year.
Kyle O’Reilly appeared to be holding his jaw during and after the match and while some speculated that it was just him selling, it seems like the NXT star may have suffered a legitimate injury.
Fightful Select (subscription required) is reporting that during the commercial breaks when the cameras weren’t rolling, NXT trainers and doctors were visibly seen checking on Kyle O’Reilly by those in attendance.
There is no word on if Kyle O’Reilly has actually suffered a serious injury or if the doctors and trainers checking on him were a precautionary measure, but stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for any potential updates.
Last night’s NXT New Year’s Evil show was actually a pretty newsworthy show, with NXT announcing the date of their next TakeOver event and a women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament.
