On Tuesday night, WWE confirmed that former rivals Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic would be teaming up to take on Undisputed Era on last night’s episode of NXT.
The match, which kicked off last night’s NXT, was started by Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish. However, when the show returned from the first commercial, Fish had been removed from the match and replaced by Roderick Strong.
Undisputed Era have very rarely used the Freebird Rule while holding the NXT Tag Team Championships, so many fans become worried that Fish had suffered a serious injury.
This was intensified when NXT put out the following tweet during last night’s match to confirm that Fish was, in fact, injured.

Some speculated that the injury might have taken place during NXT TakeOver: WarGames or Survivor Series over the weekend. However, it would appear as if that is not the case.
PWInsider is reporting that Fish was pulled from the match as it was feared that he’d been knocked out during a bump to the outside during the match.
The site also notes that Fish was seen walking around backstage after the show, so it is not believed that he suffered a serious injury last night.
“The belief among those we have spoken with is that there was concern Fish might have been hurt or knocked for a loop taking his bump to the floor. We are told he was walking around backstage after the show and seemed to be OK.”
WWE will likely provide an update on Fish’s injury status tonight on WWE Now. Stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for the latest.
