Tear down those calendars and throw away those T-shirts! It looks like Rusev Day might have been canceled!
Although nothing has been confirmed yet, several signs appeared yesterday that the ‘Bulgarian Brute’ might be on his way out of WWE.
Firstly, it was announced that Chris Jericho would be facing the Undertaker at Greatest Royal Rumble, the spot Rusev originally had on that card.
Secondly, Rusev has now removed all mention of WWE from his Twitter bio, which is usually a sign that a performer is on the way out.
Rusev’s Twitter also gave us some more hints that he might be leaving for pastures new; his profile and cover photo are now the posters from a film called “Other Versions of You”, which Rusev, under his real name, Miroslav Barnyashev, will be featured in alongside his real-life wife Lana (CJ Perry).
He also tweeted this rather ominous sentence – “Life is life….. it will be #RusevDay somewhere.”
I’m not crying, you’re crying!
Life is life….. it will be #RusevDay somewhere

These developments come mere weeks after rumors circulated that Rusev was only added to the WWE United States Championship match at WrestleMania 34 because he had asked for his release.
The former US Champ has been criminally underutilized on the SmackDown Live roster, especially considering his “Rusev Day” act with Aiden English is easily one of, if not the, most over thing in the entire company. Perhaps Rusev is tired of being underappreciated and feels his talents would be better used elsewhere.
Of course, this is all speculation on our part at the moment, but it’s hard to see why Rusev would do all of this if he wasn’t at least considering leaving WWE. Perhaps this is all building to an angle on SmackDown Live. Maybe this is Rusev letting us all know he’s being drafted to Raw in the Superstar Shake-Up next week. Or maybe Rusev Day’s Rusev Days are actually numbered.
Do you think Rusev should leave WWE and try and make a name for himself somewhere else? What would happen to Aiden English if Rusev does leave? Let us know and keep checking WrestleTalk.com for every update on this developing story.
