Jade Cargill has addressed the situation with her wig coming off during her recent match on WWE SmackDown.

During the King of the Ring four-way match between Cargill, Charlotte Flair, Lyra Valkyria and Sol Ruca, Cargill’s wig visibly came off her head when it was pulled by Flair.

Cargill has long spoken about how her wig coming off has been one of her biggest fears in the ring – and the worst case scenario happened.

In a new interview on No-Contest Wrestling, the former WWE Women’s Champion reflected and opened up about the incident, saying:

“The crazy thing – people wanna sit there and talk about, ‘It’s the glue,’ or whatever. No, my wig was sewn on. I sew my wig. That’s how hard my wig was pulled. That’s how hard. Pieces of my hair came out too.

“But, it’s not a secret. I say all the time I wear a wig. What woman of my color do we know, let’s be real, let’s not be stupid… People can be very slow and very stupid. We all know it’s clickbait, people just ride on the train, try to trend and try to jump on the hate train. It is what it is.

“My wrestling, especially this year, I’ve been doing a very, very good job. So it’s like, ‘What else can we talk about?’ You can’t say I’m ugly. ‘What else can we say?’ So this was just a time for people to try to jump on a bandwagon and make a ‘point’ or whatever when I always say it’s a wig. I talk about it all the time, it’s one of my biggest fears, and it happened.

“More than anything, I’m alive. More than anything though, I am shocked I finished that match. I don’t know if you noticed, I was starting to roll out. And that’s why Charlotte got one over on me, because I was worried about that wig the entire time. But if it wasn’t for that, I would have definitely taken that match home.

“Listen, a lot of things were going through my mind, and when it happened, I screamed at Charlotte, I was like, ‘Charlotte!’ I was so mad. I was so angry. I was just like, ‘I can’t stop right now. I can’t stop. I can’t stop right now.’ I persevered and I kept on going and I was like, ‘Alright, y’all got the best of me this time and I gotta keep going.’

“But my wig was sewn on, my wig was glued on, everything you can think of. It was just the fact that it was literally pulled off. It was literally pulled off. My hair came out as well with it. My hair grew down here way below my shoulders and I cut it just to make a point. People don’t understand.

“What’s funny about it all is thankfully my bald cap came off as well, because imagine if my bald cap was still on my head. People would have really thought I was bald. That’s the crazy thing about it. But it’s just ignorance. I think this is a great opportunity to teach people about the culture and let people know.

“Every single woman – (except) maybe like three woman or four – wears extensions, wears a wig. There’s several of us that wear wigs. People are just ignorant and stupid and they just wanna jump on the bandwagon.

“But hey, that lets me know, good or bad, I always trend. I always trend. People always try to find a reason to slam dunk. What else can you do when you’re Jade Cargill?”
