“I feel like coming here, something I struggled with a lot, and still struggle with, I still obviously have to get better at everything, but I think the entertainment side of it is something I struggled with more.

“Growing up I was a super shy kid, I used to hate public speaking, I used to be the girl that would hide under my desk when the teacher was trying to pick people to read. I couldn’t say my Rs or pronounce certain words as a kid, so I hated speaking.

“Also coming from an amateur wrestling background, you’re always told not to show your emotions, or not show you’re tired or not show you’re hurt, because your opponent will capitalise on that.

“So coming here that definitely has been the more challenging part, but I do know I have a super funny goofy personality, with my friends I’m super goofy, so it’s just been a learning curve in finding ways for me to show that on camera as well.

“I love it though because even though I was never comfortable with that growing up, I love that it’s challenging me and getting me out of my comfort zone.”

Kendal Grey Wants To Be The Best Following Dave Meltzer Praise

Recently, Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer has heaped praise on Kendal Grey’s work in WWE NXT, believing that she has the potential to become the best American women’s wrestler of all time.

Kendal was asked about Meltzer’s comments, and whether she believes them.

Kendal noted that she tries not to read too much into anything online, either positive or negative, but definitely agrees she wants to become the best ever.

She added:

“It didn’t really scare me, I try not to read too much into online and what people are saying, because no matter I do, people are going to say negative things, positive things, so I just try to be me, be authentic to myself and not read too much into it. I don’t want to get in my head about stuff.

“But at the end of the day, I do want to be the best. I wanna, that’s what I train for. I come in here every single day, get better every single day, take all the information I can and grow my mind about this business.

Ultimately, if that happens, hopefully it happens down the road authentically, but I try not to read too much into it, do what I can, work hard, and if it happens, it happens.”
