Jim Ross Says He Will Pursue WWE-Contracted Jerry Lawler For Reunion In AEW

The two voices synonymous with WWE during the Attitude Era were Hall of Famers Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler. The pair had somewhat a reunion on WWE TV at Raw 25 in 2018, where they called part of the show together.

Since then, Jim Ross has left WWE, and is now set to be part of a three-man booth in All Elite Wrestling. Ross’ contract is said to be the “most lucrative deal in commentary history“. At this weekend’s Starrcast II convention, Ross and Lawler reunited once again to host a Q&A show for the fans in attendance.

PWInsider is interestingly reporting that JR said that he will actively pursue Jerry Lawler personally and try to sign him to AEW once his current WWE contract expires, which is reportedly soon.

It is unknown what role Lawler would have in AEW, and where Ross sees him fitting in, but a nostalgic reunion between the long-time broadcast partners would definitely make for some entertaining television.

Jim Ross is part of the commentary team for AEW’s Double or Nothing show tonight. You can watch live on www.itvboxoffice.com in the UK and follow them on @ITVWrestling on Twitter for all updates
