It was recently revealed that top independent star Joey Ryan has turned down an offer from All Elite Wrestling. This came a few weeks after it was reported that Ryan had been approached by WWE about working in NXT for a few years before transitioning into a coaching role.
However, Ryan recently released a “Farwell to the Indies” shirt, sparking speculation that he had in fact signed with either AEW or WWE and would be working exclusively with one of the companies.

However, at Thursday night’s Bar Wrestling show, Ryan revealed what the future holds for him after the reported interest from the two top promotions.
The charismatic independent star explained that he wants to be a true independent wrestler, and will not be “exclusive” to any promotion. He concluded his promo by saying “I may be a big fish in a small pond, but it’s MY f***ing pond.”
