John Cena Discusses LA Knight’s Popularity Ahead Of WWE Fastlane WWE

John Cena has discussed LA Knight’s popularity ahead of WWE Fastlane.

On the September 29 edition of SmackDown, LA Knight made the save for John Cena who was on the receiving end of a beatdown from The Bloodline’s Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa.

Following dispatching of the duo, Knight signed the contract and shook Cena’s hand to become his tag team partner against The Bloodline at this Saturday’s WWE Fastlane.

Ahead of the premium live event, John Cena appeared on WWE’s The Bump to discuss his partnership with and the popularity of LA Knight. On their handshake and comparing Knight’s rise to his own, Cena said:

“I felt great, only because it reminds me of when I started to gain a little bit of notoriety and relevance in WWE.”

“LA Knight and my story runs a little bit of parallel, he just refused to give up, never give up, and has done it his own way.”

“Even a lot of times being an underdog and being forgotten by people in the bowels of the arena, but not forgotten by the people in the arena, cheering him on. I think what he’s done is incredible. We work so hard to get where we are at.”

On Knight’s flourishing popularity in WWE, Cena said:

“I could waste all your time talking about, I love WWE because of moments like this. No-one knows what’s going to happen next, and nobody can control the narrative.”

“A lot of times the audience can tell if they’re trying to be controlled or pushed in a certain direction, and they rebel against it, and I think that’s wonderful, because as performers, it allows us to listen to the most important superstar out there, and that’s the WWE Universe.”
