Mike Johnson of PWInsider has confirmed that a King of the Ring special will air on the weekend of October 1 to 3. The special will reportedly air in different timeslots depending on local markets.
The special will be a preview of the return of the upcoming tournament. It was previously reported that the opening rounds of the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments will commence on the October 8 season premiere of SmackDown.
Baron Corbin won the last King of the Ring tournament in 2019, defeating Chad Gable in the finals.
The final round of the Queen of the Ring tournament will reportedly take place at Crown Jewel on October 21. Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar has already been announced for the Saudi Arabia show.
WWE has announced that the next Draft will take place over the course of the October 1 edition of SmackDown, and the October 4 episode of Raw.
