Kurt Angle has been away from Raw ever since commissioner Stephanie McMahon ordered him to take indefinite leave after she deemed him to be doing a terrible job as general manager.
She had a point.
Although his departure was never going to be permanent, very little has been known about his return, but Joe Peisich, speaking on Barnburner’s No Holds Barred podcast, reported that the former world champion may well appear at Super ShowDown in an attempt to regain control on Monday nights.
“Everybody wants to know what’s happening with Kurt Angle. He has been contacted…Kurt Angle may be appearing at the Super ShowDown, believe it or not.”
Since his most recent departure, Baron Corbin has been the acting general manager of Raw, leading many to believe that Angle would eventually return to feud with Corbin, perhaps having a match for the GM role.
Baron Corbin himself has accepted that the match is likely to happen upon Kurt’s return.
“I think it’s one of those things where it will definitely happen. Knowing Kurt and knowing how frustrated he can get, and I can be quite the aggressor myself. It’s one of those things where whether WWE want it to happen or not, it may happen,” he said.
Kurt, despite appearing in the Greatest Royal Rumble and as part of multi-man tag matches in 2017, is yet to have a singles match since returning last April. This could all change if what Baron says is true and the match between the two general managers goes ahead.
