Kyle O’Reilly Says NXT 2.0 Locker Room ‘Wasn’t A Very Good Environment’

Kyle O’Reilly chose to come to AEW after his WWE contract expired and now he has revealed his reasoning for making the choice.

Appearing on “The Sessions” wIth Renee Paquette, the former WWE NXT star was asked why he chose AEW over WWE and referenced the difference in locker rooms as a primary reason.

O’Reilly answered:

“The AEW locker room is full of the guys that I came up with in this business that I’ve been friends with for years.

“There was a lot of that in NXT too, but it seemed like every couple weeks I would look around at the locker room and it was getting decimated. It wasn’t a very good environment, I guess, at that time. I wanted to follow my heart where I’m going to be happy and be utilized.”

The NXT 2.0 rebrand has been heavily criticised since the start. Kyle O’Reilly was one of the victims of the changes made.

The former Undisputed Era member went from the brand’s top babyface to a makeshift tag team with Von Wagner.

It wasn’t surprising to many fans that O’Reilly made the decision to jump AEW.
