Last-Minute Addition To WWE SmackDown Revealed

A last-minute addition to the lineup for this week’s (August 11) edition of Friday Night SmackDown has now been revealed.

During the show, Dakota Kai appeared alongside Bayley and WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY.

The Damage CTRL trio paraded around at ringside during the Charlotte Flair vs Asuka match, before SKY attacked the the competitors in the ring.

Bayley then joined IYO SKY in attacking Asuka and Flair, but Dakota Kai notably didn’t join in.

Per PWInsider, Kai wasn’t originally scheduled to appear on SmackDown. The report noted that the story making the rounds backstage was that Kai was called at the last minute to fly in for the taping.

Kai is currently recovering from surgery to fix a torn ACL injury she suffered in May.

She returned to WWE TV at SummerSlam to celebrate SKY’s WWE Women’s Title win, after SKY cashed in her Money in the Bank contract on Bianca Belair, moments after Belair defeated Asuka and Flair in a title threeway bout.
