Brock Lesnar (WWE) vs. Roman Reigns (Universal)

Heyman takes over for Roman’s introduction so Brock grabs the mic and does his own too and it remains, delightful calling himself a cowboy, asskicker.

The ref is knocked down and Roman hits a low blow on Brock then smash across the face with the Universal belt but still

Reigns is battering Lesnar until Brock gets Roman in a giant Kimura Lock submission and while he’s able to get to the ropes with a tiny bit of help from Heyman, Heyman is creepily pleading with him to get back up and he repeats “it’s out” several times seemingly about his shoulder which commentary puts over (later saying ‘he just put it back in place’ pulling on the top rope)  as they get back to their feet and Reigns is able to hit a spear and covers Brock for the pinfall victory!

The whole shebang ends with a great visual of Reigns, Heyman, both belts and a whole lot of pyrotechnics!!

Austin Theory vs. Pat McAfee

WWE just wants me to have all the teen feels as not only is there a NO CHANCE IN HELL entrance by VINCENT KENNEDY MCMAHON who announces Theory as “a future Universal champion” and Theory comes out.

Next McAfee’s entrance to The White Stripes’ Seven Nation Army with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and the crowd seems as obsessed as I am, not only singing Pat to the ring but also kicking back up with it throughout the match.

They get into relatively quickly, Pat lays a Hurricanrana on Theory and the crowd goes wild chanting McAfee as Theory starts to turn the tide as Vince McMahon nods in approval. Theory starts to take control until they’re scrapping on the outside of the ring near commentary.

McAfee grabs the headset and starts calling his own match as he’s jabber jawwing on the mic, “Tim and Sally McAfee’s kid…” I love the classic throwback to Mrs. Foley’s baby boy! and slamming Theory’s face into the desk after dousing him in a cup of ice to return the favor from this week’s episode of SmackDown.

Back in the ring, McAfee off the top rope attempting a Swanton bomb but no one is home! Pat is tearing it up!

Pat is INSANE he just did a backflip off the top rope, landed on his feet to the terror of Theory as he’s on the second rope and Pat literally leaps onto the top rope and hits a huge slam from up top. I think the crowd wants to sing for Pat but kind of forgets the tune and briefly sounds to be singing Seth Rollins’ theme at him lol.

Theory takes control and has Pat up for an A-Town Down and Pat reverses into a roll-up and gets the pinfall victory! McAfee Mania baby!

Vince approaches Theory and smacks him around a little bit but is standing by him as McAfee talks trash, seemingly TO Vince as Vince points to himself asking me? and Vince teases taking off his suit jacket, but doesn’t… then he does and takes off his tie and cufflinks, takes off his shirt and there’s a black tank top moment – THE BELL JUST RANG and now McMahon is having a match too?!

McMahonaMania runs wild on Pat McAfee and dares Pat to smack him but before he can, Austin Theory has a take down from behind and Vince sort of does some Orange Cassidy kicks on Pat before Austin Theory comes and brings Vince a football who teases different parts of the crowd that he is going to punt it at them but instead just does it at Pat and then pins him for the victory.

McMahon’s music hits but he calls for it to end and lets Theory celebrate around the ring as McMahon watches on and now Austin Theory wants a big old Vinnie Mac snuggle and he obliges then holds up his arm in celebration! But it’s short-lived because the glass shatters and out comes STONE COLD!! STONE COLD!!

Austin drops the Stunner on Austin Theory before he’s seemingly going to share a beer with McMahon and nuh-uh! Vince takes a (sort of weird looking) Stunner but I don’t even care because it’s Stone Cold Steve Austin stunning Vince McMahon and I hope WWE doesn’t make me get out of this naughties time machine for awhile!

Austin drinks with Pat but then stuns him, I mean – it happens. Sorry Pat.

Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods vs. Sheamus & Ridge Holland (W/ Butch)

Fast match which sees Ridge Holland get the pin over Xavier Woods… ew!

I guess they’ll continue to feud, I don’t want to see it!

AJ Styles vs. Edge

Entrances are notable here in that AJ Styles smacks his face on the set as he enters and busts his face open before the match even starts AND Edge has a very cool new and brooding entrance…

This match is just as excellent as you might think with Edge picking up the victory after catching Styles mid-Phenomenal forearm into a Spear as Damian Priest had appeared at ringside and then joined Edge in the ring to celebrate.

New Brood?! Yes please!

+ Ciampa too, even better!

Carmella & Queen Zelina (c) vs. Liv Morgan & Rhea Ripley vs. Naomi & Sasha Banks vs. Natalya & Shayna Baszler

This match was wild!

A double tower of doom leads to Liv and Rhea taking down everyone else to end a complete melee where there were loads of finishers and near falls but no one could get the job done. Despite having announced before the match that there would only be two women in at a time, this whole match everyone was everywhere but it was fun.

In the end, Sasha and Naomi pick up the victory!

When the Bella Twins come back to challenge Team Bad – acknowledge me!

Johnny Knoxville vs. Sami Zayn

This match starts out interestingly serious as Knoxville has clearly done plenty of in-ring training but luckily the match overall had very little else to do with proper ‘wrestling’ as the spot fest to come was something to behold.

Chris Pontius is in the ring now, sort of jumping around like Shane McMahon at first but then he goes on to take off his outer layer to reveal full ‘Party Boy’

Zayn is getting under the ring and instead of a weapon, he finds Wee Man! Wee Man no joke body slams Sami Zayn and my husband and I popped so hard our kids got scared.

Zayn is on the top rope preparing to take flight and Knoxville sets off some pyro off the turnbuckle and it goes off behind Sami, Knoxville then pulls out a bowling ball and rolls it into Zayn’s waiting crotch.

As Sami is at ringside, a giant rubber hand slaps him down. Yes, you read that right. Knoxville digs around in his back of tricks again and produces a stun gun!

So many of the Jackass crew are here to help and slide an enormous mousetrap into the ring while Knoxville still stalks Sami with a stun gun, puts Zayn down and gets him inside that giant mousetrap, locks him in and gets the pinfall victory.

I want to watch this again when I’m not worried about keeping track of every hilarious spot because this was impossibly fun. An amazingly good time that made me feel almost as much early noughties joy as the throwback with Stone Cold last night. This is the vintage shenanigans at its finest!

I was thoroughly sports entertained!

Bobby Lashley vs. Omos

This match went on a little longer than I thought it would but was relatively engaging but there was zero build to this, there’s zero build to the story beyond – whoa, beefy beef! so I’d suspect it’s not going to be anyone’s match of the night.

Lashley picks up the victory of Omos, delivering Omos his first singles loss in WWE.

RK-Bro (c) vs. Alpha Academy vs. Street Profits

These three teams are SO fun to watch, unlike some of the matches from WrestleMania Saturday, I do NOT care that I’ve already seen in a bunch of different ways in the lead up – huge moves from every team including too many cool RKOs to mention (the last set where Orton caught Gable into an RKO was probably my favorite?) a monster move off the top rope from Montez Ford and a scary tumble into the ring post that has me still concerned for Otis’ safety (not because an injury was reported but because I’m a nervous nelly!)

RK-Bro retain their championships!

In a post-match angle, Street Profits offer RK-Bro red cups and they not only accept but they also agree and the group invite Gable Steveson who is at ringside, into the ring to participate in a toast with them and their solo cups. As they start to clink plastic, Chad Gable pops in to slap the cups from the newest Gable’s hands and they have a stare-off.

Steveson gets the better this one but I’d be happy to see a feud between these two actual Olympians over the right to be Gable!

Thank You Triple H!

Triple H comes out to the ring and welcomes us to WrestleMania – leaves his boots behind in the ring.

Maria Menounos chats with Austin Theory outside Mr. McMahon's office

Theory is mega confident, he is going to put Pat McAfee A-Town down! Then he took a selfie with Maria who is in a very cute outfit!

Preview packages galore!

We continue to roll towards WrestleMania Sunday! The panel of Jerry Lawler, Booker T, Kayla Braxton, Bert (or if you prefer, Kevin Patrick which I don’t) and Pete Rosenberg currently discussing Sami Zayn vs. Johnny Knoxville.

Extremely randomly Lawler just said he know Bert’s favorite movie is Princess Bride… but I have no idea why, it was a vague segue to saying something about Jackass movies?

Bert says that KO’s match was his favorite; lovely stuff.

What was your WrestleMania Saturday highlight?!

It was so, so good!

While you’re waiting for WrestleMania Sunday to kick off, check out every match from WrestleMania Saturday ranked from worst to best!
