LIVE RESULTS – WWE SmackDown – June 3, 2022 WWE

It’s Friday, which means it’s time for more WWE SmackDown action! With WWE Hell In A Cell just 2 days away, no matches from the blue brand have been announced for the show yet.

Will they announce any tonight? We shall see, but two big matches have been announced for tonight’s episode.

Currently set for the show is:

  • Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship – The Usos (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura & Riddle
  • Six-Pack Challenge – Raquel Rodriguez vs. Shayna Baszler vs. Shotzi vs. Xia Li vs. Natalya vs. Aliyah
  • Madcap Moss returns

Follow along with all the happenings on the blue brand here from 8PM EST.

It's a handicap match

Nakamura is out. Riddle is now going 1 on 2 with The Usos. The Usos are beating up Riddle. Jey Uso is in with Riddle. While Riddle is down, Uso mimics Randy Orton.

Riddle is fired up and goes crazy. He hits the pump knee. He hits a beautiful Floating Bro onto Jey from the apron to the floor. Back in the ring, he hits the draping DDT. He looks like he’s going to win. Jey is up on the apron. Riddle takes him out. He avoids being rolled up.

In true WWE2K22 style, Roman Reigns music hits. Riddle is distracted. He manages to still hit a Super-RKO. But, Jimmy wasn’t legal. Jey Uso hits the Uso Splash.

It’s revealed that Sami Zayn turned on the music. He freaks out because it worked. He tries to come out and celebrate with the Usos. Riddle attacks Zayn. The Usos make the save and that’s it folks.

Another SmackDown in the books.

The tag team titles are on the line

Before the main event, we find out Corbin and Moss have been added to Hell in a Cell. We also find out Gunther will challenge for the Intercontinental Championship next week. Cherish that title for one more week Ricochet because I don’t think you’ll have it much longer.

Nakamura and Riddle make their entrance. On a night where they celebrate Cole’s longevity, he’s had a rough night. He has gotten several people’s names wrong. Aliyah, Madcap, and a couple of others. He also screwed up the wording of trying to explain why Nakamura and Riddle were teaming up.

Nakamura comes out hot. He tags in Riddle. They take turns kicking Jey. Riddle is in and is hitting some serious forearms when Jimmy tags himself in with a blind tag. The two Usos take over for a short bit. Riddle is able to tag in Shinsuke.

The Usos slam Nakamura into the steel steps. He hits knee first. The Usos then hit a thrust kick to Shinsuke’s knee. Nakamura is unable to continue. The ref throws up the X symbol. This is cleary not a real injury, but a work. Riddle is about to go 1 on 2 on The Usos. I guess Riddle is now the 1 and the Usos are the 2?

Madcap is back

He’s mad. No jokes. No cap. He’s been repackaged to a guy in black trunks. He says he buried the old Madcap and there’s a new one. The new one wants to punch Corbin in the face.

Corbin comes down to the ring and say he just wants to be his employee again. MJF/Wardlow this segment is not. Corbin says a match is a bad idea.

Adam Pearce immediately comes out and says the match is a good idea. So, the match is official.

By the way, The Inspirational Lacey Evans is coming back to SmackDown next week.

The match ended before it ever really started. Corbin tried to avoid any contact. He runs outside and grabs a chair. Madcap blocks it. He takes the chair and attacks Corbin. He gets DQ’ed. He continues to attack him.

He takes the chair and wraps it around Corbin’s head. He’s got the steel steps and tries to drop it on his head, but the WWE official crew stops him. Madcap is upset.

6-Way Women's Match

Natalya, Raquel Gonzales, Xia Li, Shotzi, Aliyah and Shayna Baszler are facing off in a 6-way match for a chance to face Ronda Rousey. Xia Li seems like an odd addition to this match. But, she is looking great early on.

As any 6-way match would go, there’s a lot of hectic action. At one point, Shayna Baszler went for a gut-wrench suplex on Aliyah. Aliyah didn’t get flipped all the way over and landed on her head and neck. She immediately rolled right out of the ring. She may have been hurt. She didn’t look like she was ok.

Raquel Gonzales destroys everyone. She hits the Tejana Bomb and is about to make the cover when Shayna Baszler jumps her from behind. This allows Natalya to make the cover for the win.

Yep. Natalya is the number one contender. The BOAT vs. The Baddest. Wahoo!!!

Of course, Pat McAfee had to take a shot at Naomi and Sasha. He said isn’t it awesome that it actually happened.

Humberto vs. Jinder Mahal

This is one half of the tag math we saw last week. I wonder if we will get dancing Shanky again?

We did. He’s now know as The Sckscraping Shanky. Humberto had Mahal, but the ref was distracted by Dancing Shanky. Mahal wins. He’s still not happy that Shanky is a dancing maniac. Shanky dances with the female ring announcer. She gets up and dances with him.

The match itself was not the focus at all of this segment was built around Shaynk wanting to dance.

Max Dupri

Max DuPRI!!! has arrived. He’s backstage with Adam Pearce. He says he’s found the first client of Maximum Male Models. Pearce like everyone else will have to wait for next week to find out who it will be.

We then get a recap of Cody and Set Rollins. The are facing off in Hell in a Cell on Sunday. Cody has to win, right?

Riddle and Nakamura

Riddle and Nakamura are backstage with Kayla. They do an interview segment where they compare each other to their former partners. Kayla has them watch a video package. I’m not sure on what because there was no screen, but I don’t guess it matters.

We see the attack that injured Randy. Riddle says the match tonight isn’t about the titles. It is about hurting the Usos. Which begs the question…Why is it a championship match?

Brawlin'

After the commercial break, New Day and Drew McIntyre are facing the Brawling Brutes in a rematch of last’s weeks 6-man tag. The match will be fine, but it’s hard to get excited about a match we’ve seen before and you know we’ll see some version of it again soon.

Kofi is looking exceptionally good tonight in the ring. In a really nice little spot before the mid-match commercial break, Kofi and Xavier hit dueling flips to the outside. Drew McIntyre just stands and claps.

When we get back from the break, the bad guys have taken control. The match builds to the Big D hot tag. Drew McIntyre takes out everyone. He tags back in Xavier Woods. Woods hits a backbreaker that was really nice. Meanwhile, Butch and Woods are in the ring alone. The other 4 men take each other out. Sheamus is the last one standing.

He distracts Woods in the ring. Butch hits the Bitter End. Brawling Brutes get the win. 50/50 booking at its finest.

The New Day

New Day comes out to open the show. We get a video package of what happened last week when Drew McIntyre was the mystery partner. They thank Drew McIntyre for helping them get back in the winning column. He comes out immediately after the thank you.

Pat lets us know that Michael Cole has only missed two shows in 25 years. That’s quite impressive. New Day also sucks up to the crowd. They are near Ohio State. So, they get the O-H…I-O chant.

Drew sends a shout-out to Big E. He gets the crowd to chant Big E.

Drew McIntyre calls his shot and says he’s going to win the Undisputed Universal Title at Clash at the Castle. He says but that’s then and this is now. He says they can always count on Big D. They then make a few not so funny jokes about Big D. New Day gives Drew a kilt that’s really about the size of a cheerleading skirt.

Sheamus and his boys come out. The Brawlin’ Brutes make a joke about Ohio State. Yay, WWE referencing hometown sports for cheap heat instead of earning it. They claim they didn’t have time to prepare and want to have Fight Night again.
