Major WWE Star Refused To Squash Andrade Last Year

During his shoot interview with Lucha Libre Online yesterday, which is the first time he has publicly spoken since his WWE release, Andrade shared an interesting story regarding Raw star Drew McIntyre.

Andrade revealed during the interview (translation courtesy of Fightful) that a WWE producer told Drew McIntyre to go over strong in a match against him, but Drew told the former NXT Champion to just wrestle normally.

“When the pandemic started, they put me with Drew McIntyre. Drew was great with me and behaved well with me in NXT and on the main roster. We had the matches and a producer came to me and said, ‘Make sure Drew looks like a monster, because he’s the champ.’ Drew came to me and told me to wrestle how I know to wrestle, saying that he doesn’t need me to make him look good, but to wrestle how I wrestle best.”

Andrade revealed that people within WWE treated him well, citing Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton as examples of members of the roster who had his back and supported him during his time with WWE:

“A lot of people treated me well, Drew too and Randy Orton. [Randy] would ask me, ‘Why aren’t they using you?’ I didn’t know what to say and didn’t know what was going on.”

During the interview, Andrade revealed that it was this incident with the unnamed WWE producer and Drew McIntyre that led to him deciding he wanted to leave the company.
