The most recent former WWE star to debut for IMPACT Wrestling is Matt Cardona. Cardona (FKA Zack Ryder) made his debut for IMPACT at their Hard to Kill pay per view.
Now, Cardona has opened up about when he first talked with IMPACT about joining the promotion. Speaking with Bill Pritchard of Wrestle Zone, Cardona revealed he was talking with IMPACT since WWE released him last year. Here is the quote:
“I’ve been talking to IMPACT since [my WWE] release and it never quite made sense but we were always in contact. When the text came through ‘Do you want to come work?’ I wrote ‘Alwayz Ready’ because it just made sense. I don’t know if it was by coincidence or fate, but I shaved my body the night before and I got a tan, so I was ready to go! I wanted to wrestle and it was live on pay-per-view, so why not?”
Matt Cardona also revealed that he is currently not under contract with IMPACT Wrestling. You can read more about that here.
