Report: Matt Riddle Out Of Rehab, Could Make WWE Return Soon WWE

It has been reported that former Raw Tag Team Champion Matt Riddle is out of rehab, indicating that he could make a WWE return soon.

Riddle last appeared for WWE on the December 5 edition of WWE Raw. During the show, he was attacked by Solo Sikoa and stretchered out of the arena.

Writing Riddle off TV, WWE announced that the star would be out of action for six weeks.

A report then emerged from Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net a week later, claiming that Riddle had failed a drug test and would be going to rehab – the apparent ‘real’ reason he was written off TV.

While a source ‘close to Riddle’ denied the story, claiming that Riddle had been off TV due to the pressure of going through a divorce, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful stated that he had seen ‘a lot of stuff’ to backup Cassidy Haynes’ original story.

Dave Meltzer now reports that Riddle is out of rehab and has been training in Brazilian Ju Jitsu.

Meltzer wrote the following in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

“(Matt) Riddle, who is out of rehab, got his BJJ black belt this past week training under Daniel Gracie.

“Riddle was announced as returning in six weeks after the injury angle on 12/12. That would indicate a Rumble return, although if he’s suspended two months, he wouldn’t make that time line.”

During Riddle’s absence, the company hasn’t shied away from mentioning him, including even having Elias throw a “tribute concert” for him.

WWE is reportedly happy with the surprises planned for this Saturday’s (January 28) premium live event.
