Montez Ford Comments On Whether New Bobby Lashley Faction Is Babyface Or Heel WWE

SmackDown star Montez Ford has attempted to clarify whether the new Bobby Lashle- led faction involving Ford and Angelo Dawkins should be considered babyfaces or heels.

Since aligning with Bobby Lashley in recent months, the Street Profits have adopted a new edge to their characters, coinciding with a change in presentation, donning suits more akin to Lashley himself.

While this refresh has been well appreciated by many fans, there has been confusion regarding whether the group are meant to be considered faces or heels, with some signs pointing to either side since their allegiance began.

In an interview with the New York Post, Ford was quizzed on this, where he attempted to clear up the confusion regarding their face or heel status, saying:

“I feel like it’s gonna be whatever the viewer decides it to be. We are gonna have similar situations to individuals in life, things that they go through, certain decisions they have to make.

“And whatever we decide to do, whatever motive we have, I think they are gonna decide whether they like it or not based on the decision we make.

“It’s at the point right now where I don’t think we are really searching for approval. It’s more toward success.

“What we have been doing for a very long time has been stagnant and not too much has been added to our accolades for a very long time because we have been doing it a certain way.

“I feel like now by reasserting ourselves, letting ourselves know and letting the world know what the tone is, that’s what we’re taking it as.

“Whatever they’re taking it as, whether it’s good or bad they’ll know what the tone is, what our motive is. It’s up to them whether they like it or not.”

While that doesn’t exactly give a definitive answer, WWE reportedly has the group listed as heels internally and it’s fair to say that more signs recently have pointed to that direction than the other.

Adding to this is their current feud with the Latino World Order, who are of course firmly in the babyface camp.

Lashley and the Street Profits take on the LWO in a six-man tag at Fastlane 2023 on Saturday, October 7 – for the latest WWE news heading into the event click here.
