Mustafa Ali has shared an unused vignette, indicating that plans for his ‘New America’ character have been scrapped by WWE.
On the October 29 edition of SmackDown, Ali was defeated by Drew McIntyre. After the bout, the former RETRIBUTION leader took to the mic to argue that the only reason crowds boo him is because his name is Mustafa Ali.
Ali has now taken to Twitter with a intriguing vignette. Standing at a podium in a suit, with ‘America The Beautiful’ playing in the background, Ali vented about trying to fit in, before blessing ‘our new America’.
Indicating that plans for this character had been scrapped, Ali captioned the video:
“a few weeks ago, I made a statement that some deemed controversial. my intentions were to bring a beautiful vision to life. unfortunately, for reasons beyond my control, I won’t be able to make that vision a reality. but I can share with you what could have been.”

Ali’s match with Mansoor at WWE Crown Jewel was notably the first time two Muslim men had a singles match on a WWE pay-per-view.
