New AEW Faction Member Confirmed

New AEW Faction Member Confirmed AEW

An AEW faction has officially added a new name to their ranks following an injury to one of its existing members.

As she confirmed on social media following her TBS Championship match with Mercedes Moné on the December 6 episode of Collision, SkyFlight’s Leila Grey suffered a torn ACL during the bout that will see her sidelined for the foreseeable future.

Speaking ahead of the January 8 episode of ROH TV, fellow SkyFlight member Christopher Daniels addressed Grey’s injury and revealed that he and Grey had decided upon the addition of a new member to the faction prior to Grey’s injury: Zayda Steel.

After being introduced by Daniels, Steel discussed why she couldn’t turn down Daniels’ offer:

“Christopher Daniels is a legend and when a legend calls and asks for a favor, it’d be real dumb not to show up and show out.

“And that’s exactly what the real deal Zayda Steel is gonna do.”

Steel previously faced off with, and lost to Leila Grey in singles competition during the ROH Final Battle Zero Hour show on December 5 – a match that was her first in the promotion.

The 22-year-old was the first name signed to a WWE ID contract in November 2024, but departed the program in October after revealing she decided not to renew her contract.

Following her WWE ID exit it was reported that AEW had interest in signing Steel, however, she has not yet been officially confirmed to be under contract with the company.
