New WWE Dominik Mysterio Championship Match Revealed

On tonight’s WWE Raw, it seemed that Dominik Mysterio may have started a championship feud with a top star.

Tonight’s WWE Raw included an in-ring segment from Imperium as the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion ever, GUNTHER, was in the ring.

GUNTHER’s in-ring segment ran through the implausibility of WrestleMania 40 opponents being worthy of challenging him.

With GUNTHER running down the individual members of Judgment Day, even joking about JD McDonagh’s ‘big head’, it was a potentially unlikely member who emerged as a challenger.

While Damian Priest would be involved in a back and forth with GUNTHER, it was actually Dominik Mysterio who stepped up to the Intercontinental Champion.

While it seemed that the two could be headed for a short-term feud, there were also teases about WrestleMania 40 opponents for GUNTHER.

The champ had a stare-down backstage with Sami Zayn after Zayn’s win against Shinsuke Nakamura tonight, and there was also a backstage segment featuring Chad Gable pleading his case for a re-match to Adam Pearce.

Later in another backstage segment, Rhea Ripley seemingly expressed her trepidation about Dominik poking at GUNTHER before Mysterio would be met by another familiar face.

Coming face-to-face with Andrade el Idolo, the latter noted that he was there to meet with Adam Pearce to select his first opponent, closing the interaction with ‘see you soon’, suggesting Dominik may have yet another target on his back on WWE Raw.

Elsewhere on tonight’s show, Rhea Ripley came face-to-face with her WrestleMania 40 opponent Becky Lynch in an in-ring segment which ended in Nia Jax making a surprise attack, jumping Lynch.
