WWE
A new WWE ring name has been revealed via a trademark filing made by the company with the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
WWE often trademarks ring names for debuting talent in NXT before they actually make their first appearance – or for talents coming in on the main roster if they’re undergoing a name change.
The newest trademark filed by WWE is for the name Kyoki.
The filing was made with the following description, which is the typical description for ring names:
Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment
There’s no news on who this name will be used by, but as far as speculation, it’s possible that it’s the new name for Hiromu Takahashi who is expected to make his WWE debut soon.
Naraku, formerly known as EVIL in NJPW, recently debuted in NXT under the new name Naraku, and will challenge Tony D’Angelo for the NXT Championship in a street fight match on July 21.

There’s a possiblility that Takahashi debuts during that match as an ally of Naraku, which would match up with the timing of the Kyoki trademark filing.
However, WWE did also file to trademark the name Bakusai recently, which has yet to be given to anyone and we speculated at the time that could be Takahashi’s new name as well.
One of them could be a team name, but the descriptions both suggest they’re individual names.
WWE did change Naraku’s name right before his debut, as he was originally set to be named Nox Raijin.
Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Ulka Sasaki has been training at the WWE Performance Center for a few months and has been working NXT live events, but has yet to appear on TV, so that’s another possibility.
Until it’s confirmed, it could be for someone completely different, so we’ll keep you posted with any updates.
