Former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis has reacted to his WWE TV debut on this week’s (October 13) edition of SmackDown.
During Friday’s show, Triple H revealed that the Raw and SmackDown brands will have onscreen general managers moving forward.
While Adam Pearce was named the general manager for the Red Brand, Triple H introduced Nick Aldis as the SmackDown official.
In a WWE Digital Exclusive interview, Aldis noted that he’s thrilled about the opportunity given to him by Triple H, noting:
“Well, I’m feeling wonderful. I’ve been in the business for quite a while, more than half my adult life. But, yeah, like I said out there, it’s the opportunity of a lifetime to be the general manager of SmackDown, the number one brand in all of sports entertainment.
“Wow. It’s a testament to the many hats that I’ve worn in the industry outside of the ring. To be bestowed that trust by Triple H and the rest of the management team at WWE is a huge thrill.”
Aldis also took to Twitter to comment on his new role. Sharing the video of his WWE debut, Aldis wrote:
The opportunity of a lifetime. Thank you @TripleH @WWE
Onwards and upwards for the blue brand! #SmackDown
Aldis’ first business move was a big one, with the SmackDown General Manager revealing that Kevin Owens will be replacing Jey Uso on the blue brand.
